LOW TEMP AT BIRTH = WARNING SIGN!

Yes, we are still alive...car problems are haunting our family this year!  ...well, the Blazer is always haunting us...but our little civic has always been good to us.  I was so proud of it hitting 200,000 miles in June because we have never had a problem.  Then, TWO DAYS LATER it started acting up...and fast forward to today...it's died on me about 20 times, stranding me & Cole in 100 degree weather every single time I go to get him from school - which is 25 minutes away  (that's one of the exciting things I'll try to post about next time!). The check engine light FINALLY came on so they could diagnosis it...and it will be $500.  I guess it's not as bad as the $1300 we threw down to fix the Blazer 7 months ago...plus the extra $300 3 months ago.  I'm trying to be grateful that we even have cars...but when we are throwing down more money to fix a car that is worth less...it's FRUSTRATING!!!  Anyways, Car Venting Session over....

On to the LOW TEMPERATURE AT BIRTH = WARNING SIGN:
When Cole was born he had to go to the Special Care Unit for 24 hrs because his temperature was low...they did blood work, never found anything & sent us on our way.   Seems like a minor thing right???  Well, I'm JUST finding out that it is a sign of Neurological Issues...and so is not turning face down into the birth canal.  None of the drs I've ever talked to thought it was a concern or told me it's related to neruo issues...but other moms who's kiddos have neruo issues have told me.  Not that EVERY case is like ours...but I thought I would share and also wondered if any other mom's have had this happen.  ...I have a feeling I'm gunna be a bit of a NUT CASE when this baby girl comes...and probably until she hits the 2 year mark!

  1. That's very interesting! My daughter was a preemie (6 weeks early) but she had a problem with low body temperature at birth. I thought it was just because she was a preemie. Just before she turned 5, she was diagnosed with Benign Rolandic Epilepsy. I wonder if it's all connected. Thank you for sharing!
