DAY 2 (POST OP).

Cole slept well last night.  They gave him morphine before bed.  He slept all day yesterday.  Still in ICU.  He threw up.  Had visits from the OT & PT...they had him sit up for 5 min.  he was very uncomfotable and cried most of the time and was exhasted after sitting up...he conked out after it was over.Got his head drain out...it was very painful and not fun to see him hurting.  but it is nice that we don't have to see them dump the blood/fluid from his head anymore.  Got stiches from the drain being out...we also saw a tiny bit of his head on top and he has NO hair  :(  Cole kicked his IV out & bled all over daddy and his bedding.  He is opeing his eye's more, but still sleeping most of the day.   Cole wants to be close to us, one of us is always laying next to him and he seems to scoot as close as
he can to us...very uncomfortable for us...but we LOVE IT!  Cole hasn't eaten since Wednesday, but is getting an MRI in a bit & will be able to slowly drink & if he handles that well he can have jello.
Daddy got to hold him for the first time and didn't want daddy to put him down!
We had just moved Cole to the other side of the bed, 2 secs later his leg & foot were under me!
Cole's name sign.
Cole's ICU window.
 Right after Cole's MRI.
Cole was very fussy, I sat him up so I could hug him...he laied his head right on my shoulder & giggled for the 1st time since surgery.

He FINALLY got to drink. Cole was SO thirsty!  He drank 2 apple juices, they were even mixed with water.  The nurse was SO shocked he was nervous Cole would throw it up...he didn't.  We gave him jello after & loved it.

This is what happens if you take his drink away.  I have a picture when he was a month old...drinking his bottle and very content...& a picture 2 seconds after his bottle ran out...and this is what it looked like.
